A Royal Platinum Jubilee

Tomorrow will mark the remarkable Platinum Jubilee of the accession of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.

Peaceful transitions

Queen Elizabeth acceded to the British throne on 6th February 1952, 70 years ago, when her father George VI died, the last Emperor of India and thereby the last ruler of the largest territorial extent of the British Empire, the largest Empire in global history. Since then, the Queen has overseen the peaceful transition of the British Empire into the British Commonwealth of Nations, following Britain’s pivotal role in safeguarding the liberties of the free world threatened by two World Wars between 1914-1945, which curtailed almost a century of the Pax Britannica (“British Peace”) from 1815-1914 under the hegemony of Britain’s global empire.

Significant and unique

Elizabeth II is the longest-lived and the longest-reigning monarch in British history, the longest-serving female head of state in history and the first British monarch to reach a platinum jubilee.

Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom reaches another record milestone tomorrow, God willing.

This means that each new milestone will prove to be another record so that even the Queen has not celebrated each one – but a 70-year reign is rather unique and even the Bible notes its significance.

The Bible takes note of seventy years in man’s lifespan but the world has never witnessed a 95-year-old monarch with a 70-year-long reign. The Scripture points to a significant 70-year-long monarchial reign Isa 23:15 as something noteworthy, and our Sovereign Lady has now arrived at this remarkable milestone. What does this signify? Does it portend another intimation of the divine providential control of global events? At least the Lord’s agenda is proceeding according to His inscrutable but gloriously wonderful plan.

Details of the official celebrations in June 2022 are here.

    Hi Donald,
    Well done Queen Elizabeth II.
Other items worthy of note are: she is also the current Duke of Normandy {yes the “Duke” of those valuable Channel Islands} and also the Lord of Mann, {Isle of Mann}; as well as the better known titles,
    kind regards
    Colin.
