I got a surprise last night when I heard about another hypothesis on the origin to our Universe. In short, it describes a proposal for future study that our Universe is contained and restrained within a black hole of a larger ‘parent Universe’, published recently in the journal Physical Review D. This might contradict the current Big Bang hypothesis on the origin of the Universe.
I proposed this thought to Professor Ian Morison of Jodrell Bank, in a question after his lecture on Black Holes to the Highland Astronomical Society joint meeting with Sigma at Nairn Community Centre, King Street, Nairn on 2nd April 2011.
He had not thought about it, which told me that no-one else had asked him about it in all his years of lecturing.
I proposed to him whether our view of the Universe was distorted by a large black hole effect which is distorting everything we see? Just as entering a black hole would distort one’s view of the Universe, how do we know that what we view is not a distortion inside a black hole?
I based this question on my observational views of the known Universe along with thought experiments, however, I prefer White Hole physics to explain the observable Universe.
Now biblical sceptics have more to think about. The Black Hole Universe is now on the table alongside the Big Bang cosmology. Much labour and many Ph.Ds will be gained as the scientific community tries to figure it out. It has still to seriously consider my current opinion about a White Hole Universe. I gave a brief presentation on a White Hole Universe to the Highland Astronomical Society many years ago. I was never invited to give any more presentations, in spite of its consideration by scientific writers such as John Gribbin.
Jesus Christ says: “They have closed their eyes lest they should be converted” Matthew 13:15. It is a common phenomenon Act 28:27.

14 Jun 2025: in the wake of this new paradigm, Café Scientifique discussed the implication of paradigm shifts in general. People need to learn that science has experienced many paradigm shifts throughout history, and a significant number of them in recent times. Academics buy into the current one because their career, reputation, employment and financial security may depend upon it. Those who are interested in the Truth will think outside today’s box.

Our discussion resulted in one artist’s impression of the Universe contained within a Black Hole!
We also discussed the Axis of Evil thrown up by the cosmic microwave background map, considered to be evil because it challenges the current paradigm and suggests that the Earth is in a privileged position in the Universe. It is certainly privileged in that its position gives us a nightsky through which we can study the Universe. What could we know about the Universe if we could not see it? We would be in as dark a quandry as with Dark Matter and Dark Energy. Jesus says: “He who walks in darkness does not know where he is going” Jn 12:35. Do you know where you are going after death? This is why Jesus says: “I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of Life” Jn 8:12, Jn 12:35 and compare Eph 5:8.
