Some people are always on the run – from their own past.
They cannot face up to their own past. There are billions of such people. As the years pass, they become uncomfortable with what they have done in the past, and they use various techniques to forget it, cover it up and hope others will not discover it.
Some are more successful than others. However, conscience, when it is reminded, continues to disturb them.
They have good reason to worry, but no good reason to forget and cover up. Why not? Because it will all be revealed in due course and this is not the way to deal with it.
We need something better. Rich people employ lawyers and expensive public-relations teams to sanitize their image in order to make themselves acceptable in the eyes of the public or at least among their own acquaintances. This massive effort is testimony to the viciousness in the hearts of men who will remember everyone else’s faults while bypassing their own. It is a foretaste of hell where the wicked will continue to trouble each other throughout eternity.
We need to deal with this while we can. We need peace of mind which only God can give us. “Behold, now is the time to be accepted; behold, now is the day of salvation” 2Cor 6:2.
“Seek the Lord while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts, and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him, and to our God for He will abundantly pardon.”
Isa 55:6-7.
What more can the wicked ask for? “If God is for us, who can be against us?” Rom 8:31. What does it matter what others think if God is on our side?
Yet “God requires that which is past” Ecc 3:15 and God will judge those who flee from justice Ecc 3:17. As Jesus says: “they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment” Mat 12:36.
How are you going to solve this? The only peace of conscience comes from the forgiveness of God. Those who are constantly on the run from themselves can find peace with God “through our Lord Jesus Christ” Rom 5:1. This is what you need, and it is freely available to all who hear about it.
Jesus says: “Come unto Me, all you who labour and are burdened, and I will give you rest” Mat 11:28.
