Sermon on Acts 13:26

The Free Offer of the Gospel

‘Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you fears God, to you is the word of this salvation sent’ Act 13:26.

The Gospel is ‘good news’. The good news is that God’s salvation is sent to you.

Some people know about the Gospel, some people talk about it but do not preach it. They do not offer Christ to sinners as their personal Saviour, nor do they explain how this is so.

The Holy Spirit sends the Gospel to all who hear it and offers salvation freely to them.

This makes the Gospel of Jesus Christ a ‘must hear’ item.

This sermon was preached at Glasgow on Wednesday evening 21/4/1999 at the beginning of the Communion Season.

Update:

23 Jun 2017: the majority of mankind shall be saved; will you be among them?

3 Sep 2017: too good to be true?

3 Sep 2018: no amount of law-keeping can justify a sinner; it needs atonement.
